10-year-old secure, suspect in custody after abduction at OKC subject

A 10-year-old is safe and one suspect is in custody after attempted abduction at an Oklahoma City baseball field.This is a nightmare for many parents. Thankfully, the 10-year-old is safe and uninjured. Around 9 Wednesday morning, parents dropped their child off at the ball fields at Britton Road and May Avenue. When they came back to pick him up, he wasn’t there. The child was able to call 911 and let officers know when he was sitting on the bleachers, someone grabbed him and pulled him away. The suspect and child walked about 100 yards and the child was able to break free, run and hide.”The child did everything that we typically say to do. Run, yell, tell. Break free of someone’s grasp, run to the next adult you can find, alarm them, let them know, make as much noise as you can,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk, OCPD.The groundskeeper for the park kept an eye on the man and was able to spot the suspect when police showed up The suspect faces a kidnapping charge.
