25-year-old suspect in custody after man, 5 youngsters killed at Muskogee dwelling

Six people, including five children, are dead after an overnight shooting in a house in Muskogee. Police said they received a report at around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday that shooting was taking place in a house near Indiana Street. When the police got there, the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jarron Deajon Pridgeon, was outside the house with a gun. “An officer shoots this suspect who won’t drop the gun,” Lynn Hamlin told the Muskogee Police Department. “This officer is missing. The motif starts. There is a brief pursuit and he is being held. “Officials found a man and four children dead in the house, and a woman and another child were flown to a Tulsa hospital for life. The fifth child later died and the woman is still fighting for her life. The victims were identified as Brittany Anderson, Javarion Lee, 24, Jalaiya Pridgeon, 1, Jaidus Pridgeon, 3, Harmony Anderson, 5, Neveah Pridgeon, 6, and Que’dynce Anderson, 9. Police said Anderson was in at the time a stable state. Lee was the suspect’s brother. Police also said there were three other children in the house who were not injured. According to police, Pridgeon lived in the small house with all seven victims. Officials from Muskogee Public Schools said they provide counseling services at the elementary school the children were attending. The district said in part, “We will make every effort to help our students and staff during this difficult time.”
