Adele finalizes divorce, custody settlement with ex husband

Pop musician Adele and philanthropist Simon Konecki have finalized their divorce.

According to the Associated Press on Wednesday, Adele and Konecki have agreed to share legal and physical custody of their 8-year-old son Angelo and neither will be given marital assistance. In addition, the 32-year-old hitmaker “Someone Like You” refused to pay child support to her 46-year-old ex-husband, who also has a daughter from a previous marriage.

After meeting in 2011 – around the time Adele was releasing her hit album “21” – the Grammy winner and Konecki welcomed a young boy in 2012. During one of her acceptance speeches at the 2017 Grammy Awards, Adele confirmed her marriage to Konecki by pointing out him as her husband.

In 2019, Adele filed for divorce in the Los Angeles Supreme Court a few months after the split was announced. Konecki is the founder of Drop4Drop, a nonprofit that provides resources to communities around the world without having access to clean water.

“Adele and her partner have split up,” their representatives told the AP in 2019. “You are determined to lovingly raise your son together. As always, they ask for privacy. “

Last year Adele made headlines by hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live highlighting her musical hiatus and recent weight loss. In a sketch faking ABC’s popular dating contest program The Bachelor, Adele joked about her reputation while longing for a leading man to be played by SNL cast member Beck Bennett.

“I’m Adele Atkins. I am 32 years old. Maybe you know me as the singer Adele, ”she said during the sketch. “I’m here because I’ve had a lot of heartache in life, first at 19, then at 21, and then at 25 more and more famous. … I have a really good feeling with Ben K. It’s only one night, but I can already say that he will be the next love of my life. “

The “Skyfall” singer, who was working on her next album, last debuted in 2015 with her studio collection “25”, including the smash singles “Hello”, “When We Were Young” and “Water Under the Bridge”.

And in January, the recording artist celebrated the 10th anniversary of “21”, the album that won the 2012 Grammy Awards and made her catchy with “Rolling in the Deep”, “Someone Like You” and “Rumor Has Es” and ” Set fire to the rain “.
