Alleged baby molester in custody | Information

A male nursing assistant alleged to have molested a 15-year-old patient at Noel Holmes Hospital in Hanover was taken into police custody on Monday afternoon.

The girl was reportedly hospitalized last Wednesday after attempting suicide. Other reports said she was in bed in a ward around midnight last Friday when the assistant allegedly molested her. The child told the nurses and her mother was called last Saturday morning and reported to the police.

The teenage mother demands justice for her daughter. “My daughter is very soft and quiet. She is independent, she likes to be in contact with people. She also wanted to be a psychotherapist, but I am not exactly sure if she will choose this role after this experience,” she said .

St. Andrade Sinclair, regional director of the Western Regional Health Authority, said he heard of the allegations.

“It’s currently being investigated and it’s a police matter right now, and that’s all I have to say,” Sinclair said. Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton has also reportedly ordered an investigation into the matter. This incident stems from reports that an eleven-year-old girl was sexually molested by an elderly man in the Grange Hill district of Geneva, Westmoreland, last Saturday.

According to police reports, the child was at home sleeping when he was awakened by someone taking off his clothes. She saw a man standing over her with a gun in hand. Then he sexually assaulted her. The police say the suspect is now being sought. Both incidents are being investigated by the Center for the Investigation of Sexual Crimes and Child Abuse.
