Amber Alert over, boy discovered secure, suspect in custody

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Update: Five-year-old Brixton Sisk has been found safe and suspects are in custody, ending an Amber Alert out of Rose Hill.

Update: In a media briefing given about 9 pm Thursday, Rose Hill School District Police Chief Matt Neal confirmed a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta was abandoned in Cowley County and officers are again searching for a black, 2002 Suburban with Kansas Plate 813NKU in connection with the Amber Alert that was issued Thursday afternoon. The Kansas Turnpike Authority confirmed the details on the suburban.

The search continues for 5-year-old Brixton Sisk. The KBI said his mother, Danielle Banzet, kidnapped the boy from Rose Hill Elementary School. Banzet had her parental rights terminated by the court, the KBI said. The agency said she posed as a professional social worker to get into the school.

Update: New information from an Amber Alert out of Rose Hill concerns the suspect vehicle. The KBI says a male suspect in this case and 5-year-old Brixton Sisk, have switched vehicles to a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta with Kansas license: 461NWF. The suspect may be fleeing the immediate area, the KBI says.

Update: The KBI says the suspect vehicle in the Amber Alert out of Rose Hill is a black Suburban with a paper 30-day tag.

Update: The KBI said there was “an unknown male driver” in the suspect vehicle and the abductor, the boy’s mother, got into the front seat.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert for a 5-year-old boy reportedly taken from Rose Hill Elementary School Thursday afternoon. At about 2:40 pm the KBI said a woman entered the school’s daycare, posing as a social worker.

“The woman gained access to 5-year-old Brixton Sisk, exited the school, entered a black Chevrolet Tahoe (or GMC Yukon) and departed the location,” the KBI said.

The woman who took the boy was identified as his mother, Danielle Banzet, who had her parental rights taken away by the court, the KBI said.

Prior to abducting Sisk, the KBI said actions takne by Banzet include threats of violence. The agency said this indicates the boy is imminent danger.

At 2:40pm Thursday, a woman entered the school’s day care posing as a social worker. The woman gained access to 5-year-old Brixton Sisk, exited the school, entered a black Chevrolet Tahoe (or GMC Yukon) and departed the location.

“Call 911 immediately if you have seen a missing child, suspect, or suspect’s vehicle,” the KBI said. “If you have other information on a missing child, call the Butler County Sheriff’s Office at 316-320-1294. If you have information about Brixton or Banzet. please call 911 or the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME.”
