Baby Care Conscious’s greatest fundraiser cancelled, asking for group assist

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – Childcare Aware of the annual Designers’ Showhouse in eastern Kansas has been the nonprofit’s largest fundraiser in 40 years.

The organization helps families in northeast Kansas find childcare and trains and advises childcare facilities in the area to prepare children for school.

“People really do realize the importance of a child’s early life,” said Reva Wywadis, executive director of Child Care Aware based in eastern Kansas. “If these intervention services take place early, it will only have a huge impact and a lasting effect.”

These programs and services are largely funded by grants and funds from the showhouse’s fundraiser.

The organization will buy a home, completely renovate it, and hold tours and events before it is sold.

The showhouse had to be completely virtual due to the coronavirus last year. That year they had to cancel it altogether, causing the organization to lose about $ 100,000.

By doing this, the organization is asking for help from the community. If you would like to donate, please do so by clicking here.
