Baby Help Providers acknowledges one dimension doesn’t match all – Pink Bluff Each day Information

August is Child Support Awareness Month, recognized in California and nationwide. The theme this year is “One size does not fit all,” and Tehama County Child Support Services recognizes families come in all shapes and sizes, and one size does not fit all when it comes to the service and care required.

A new, simplified enrollment form is available to make the application process easier for those who are interested in receiving the help they need. The updated enrollment form requires less information, only takes minutes to complete, and can be finalized online — even on your phone.

“For those who have thought about enrolling for services in the past but have been discouraged by the lengthy and outdated process, I encourage you to apply again with the simplified enrollment form at www.tehamachildsupport.org by selecting ‘open a case,’” said Tonya Moore, director for Tehama County Department of Child Support Services.

In addition to a simplified application, the Child Support Services Department in Tehama County utilizes technology to improve the customer experience and work efficiently. Case managers text customers via a program called TextPro, and utilize DocuSign to obtain signatures from customers. Customers can chat live with a staff member on the Tehama Child Support Services website. In the case, the department is set to begin e-filing with Tehama County Superior Court.

“We know that one size does not fit all when it comes to customer service,” Moore said. “We provide services in English and Spanish, we help with paperwork, provide payment tracking, do paternity testing, do courtesy reminder calls for court and much more.”

The department provides professional services to locate parents, establish paternity and establish and enforce court orders for financial and medical support. Its mission is to enhance the well-being of children and the self-sufficiency of families.

For more information, call 1-866-901-3212 or visit www.tehamachildsupport.org. The department is at 1005 Vista Way, Ste. A in Red Bluff and is open 8 am to noon and 1-5 pm weekdays.
