Brad Pitt Accuses Angelina Jolie Of Delaying Custody Battle – Hollywood Life

Angelina Jolie’s attorney has also retried to have Judge John W. Ouderkirk removed from custody proceedings months after her previous motion was denied.

Brad Pitt, 57, accuses ex Angelina Jolie, 46, “delaying” their custody battle while their legal troubles persist. The couple shares six children: Shiloh, fifteen, Vivienne, 12, Maddox, 19, Zahara, 16, Passengers, 17, and Knox, 12, together (eldest son Maddox is not part of the custody battle as he is now of age at 19). Brad was granted joint custody in a preliminary ruling two months ago – four years after Angelina filed for sole custody in 2016.

Brad’s accusation came through his lawyer Theodore Bourous during a hearing on Friday regarding her custody battle and divorce. Angelina’s lawyer, Robert Olson, has lobbied to remove private information Judge John W. Ouderkirk from the case after arguing that the judge was not impartial (in particular, Jolie filed documents that Ouderkirk “Not disclosed” that he had a professional relationship with one of Brad’s attorneys in August 2020). Jolie alleged in previous court documents that the judge “denied her a fair trial by inappropriately excluding her evidence relevant to the health, safety and welfare of the children, evidence that is critical to the enforcement of her case”.

“Until Ms. Jolie asked, only the judge knew what was going on [advance review and consolidation] and the opposing attorney … she was shocked that this was going on, “said Olson. “MS. Jolie didn’t know what happened between Pitt’s attorney and the judge,” he also said, making it clear that Angelina was unaware of the conflict between Ouderkirk and Brad’s legal team.

Brad’s attorney Theodore, however, argued that Angelina was aware of the conflict – claiming she was using this problem as a “delaying tactic” in the custody case. “Here in a custody case that has been going on for so long, the kids are getting older … and such a delaying tactic would be extremely unfair,” he said back. “There were no surprises … Ms. Jolie and her lawyer knew about the relationship and the reasons,” Brad’s lawyer explained.

Brad and Angelina legally married in 2014 and separated in 2016 after a decade together. The couple met while working on the action film Mr. & Mrs. Smith and began a romance amid Brad’s breakup with his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, 52. Angelina was previously married to Jonny Lee Miller, whom she recently connected with in NYC, 1996-1999, and Billy Bob Thornton from 2000 – 2003.
