SPOKANE, Washington. – Police are investigating after a woman was found dead and a 5-year-old child was found seriously injured in a home in North Spokane. SPD said they believe they have the person responsible for the identified attacks.

SPD officials said at a press conference on Sunday afternoon that they are not looking for any more suspects. The scene near Queen and Adams remains active for several hours.

In the same scene, first responders found a man in a moving vehicle in a closed garage. He was taken to the hospital and has been alive since Sunday afternoon.

The SPD said it did not believe this was an accidental crime, but did not elaborate on it. They said they are currently conducting searches while the investigation continues.

The 5-year-old child was taken to the hospital and was last operated on.
