Clinton County Job and Household Providers providing back-to-school assist

WILMINGTON – Clinton County Job and Family Services (JFS) this year will use one-time funding it has received for COVID-related projects to provide eligible families with back-to-school supplies.

Those items include school supplies, school clothes, and school fees, said Nicole Rodman, director of Clinton County’s Jobs and Family Services.

The state service agency is now offering back-to-school support for families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

You may be eligible for this allowance if you have a family with minor children in the household, or if you are a non-custodial parent who is actively paying child child support AND who meets the income guidelines below.

With a family size of 1, the gross monthly income is $ 2,147 or less. With a family size of two, the gross monthly income is $ 2,904 or less. For a family of three, the gross monthly income is $ 3,660 or less. For a family of four, the gross monthly income is $ 4,417 or less. For a family of five, the gross monthly income is $ 5,174 or less. For a family of six, the gross monthly income is $ 5,930 or less.

200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines exist for all family sizes.

The services of the back-to-school assistance program must be used for school supplies, school clothes or school fees.

If eligible, a family of up to two school-age children can receive a one-time payment of $ 300; and a family with three or more school-age children can receive a one-time payment of $ 600.
