Cody Harrison Towner, charged with aggravated sexual assault of a kid, in custody after escaping arrest final week

KATY, Texas (KTRK) – A Katy area man who was on the run last week after escaping arrest was arrested Monday on Monday on two charges of sexual assault on a 9-year-old girl.

37-year-old Cody Harrison Towner was arrested Monday morning in Block 20200 of the Katy Freeway, according to MPs.

“It gives me great pleasure to get him off the street where he can’t kill more children,” said Ted Heap, constable of Harris County Precinct 5.

Towner was involved in a chase with Harris County MPs last week, according to the cop’s office. They posted a photo of the white pickup truck he was driving when it hit a stop sign.

Fifth Ward Investigator Mike Puente said Towner was discovered by several people in the Katy area after the police officer’s office issued a public bulletin. These tips ultimately helped MPs track him down.

“This is a wonderful example of how we can benefit the people in our community who want a safe place to live,” said Constable Heap. “I just want to thank everyone who gave us tips and led us in the right direction to arrest this suspect.”

Towner has taken extreme measures to avoid arrest, including regularly changing his identity and location, according to Constable Heap.

In addition to the two sexual assaults on a child, Towner was charged with possession of heroin and three stolen credit cards.
