County in want of volunteer board members

Several bodies serving Crook County are in need of volunteers to fill seats as current members’ terms come to an end. The district officers strongly encourage members of the ward to consider offering their service.

If you would like to offer your assistance and expertise to the library, child support, local support, or land use and planning, applications can be received from the county clerk office and submitted by May 28th. The bodies will be appointed on June 1st at 2pm during the regular monthly meeting of the commission.

Positions available include two three-year terms on the Crook County Library Board, a three-year term on the 6th Judicial District Child Support Board, and a three-year term on the Crook County Promotion Board.

The Crook County’s Land Use Planning and Zoning Commission has two two-year terms. If you are interested in one of these seats, please come to the June 1st meeting before appointments are made to visit the Commissioners before they make their choice.

Applications for positions on district boards are always welcome, regardless of whether a seat is currently vacant or not. When a board member moves away or is no longer able to serve, these applications are used to seek a replacement.
