A Texas judge has given full custody of eight-year-old James Younger to his mother, who has fought publicly to turn her son into a girl against the will of the father.

Judge Mary Brown granted full custody of Anne Georgulas Tuesday in an order that gave the mother sole control of James’ primary residence, counseling, medication, education and after-school activities. It allows Georgulas, Jeff Younger, James’ father to withhold information. “With regard to extracurricular activities of the children, school functions, school enrollment, counseling and medical care.”

Although Georgulas has the exclusive right to approve James’ medical procedures, the ordinance states that such authority does not extend to hormone suppression therapy, puberty blockers, or transgender conversion surgery.

The high profile custody case has been publicly fought for years as Georgulas insists that her son identify as a girl named Luna. Younger disagrees, saying that James chose to show himself off as a boy in his home, despite keeping feminine clothing as an option in his son’s closet.

Georgulas claims James chose the name “Luna” after expressing a desire to be a girl at a young age by showing a preference for feminine pronouns and Disney princesses. However, Younger argues that James’ transgender status is fabricated and says he had a video of James as a 3-year-old saying that “Mom” told him he was a girl.

The ruling stated that Younger “failed to make child support, medical assistance and interest payments on time as directed and did not pay his overdue assistance until after the enforcement petition was filed.”

“The previous orders that Ms. Georgulas must inform Mr. Younger about doctor, counseling or psychiatric appointments or extracurricular activities for the children are canceled. In an effort to ensure the emotional well-being and physical safety of the children, the court orders that all periods of Mr. Younger’s possession be continuously monitored by the forensic counseling center. . . at the sole expense and expense of Mr. Younger. “

The verdict comes after Georgulas argued in a virtual hearing a month ago that her child’s gender identity was only tangential to the custody case.

“This is not about the gender issue of the child,” said Georgulas’ attorney, Jessica Janicek The Texan. “This is just a conflicted custody case and you will hear a lot of issues related to Jeff’s parental skills.”

However, Jeff Younger argued that James’ gender identity was central to the case and that the allegations against him stemmed from his refusal to treat his son as a girl.

“To downplay this just for the gender issue is absolutely misleading and wrong. Everything here revolves around the gender issue. And it’s about the parents’ ability to deal with this situation, ”said Younger’s lawyer David Hanschen, according to the outlet.

The Georgulas team claimed that Younger has refused to carry out court orders, including making necessary advisory and educational decisions. They also said the father repeatedly defaulted on his child support payments, although Younger denies this claim, claiming he made payments on time but the attorney general’s office made them late.

Younger said he had no objection to the advisors but feels that “the system has been played”.

“When the child is [the counselors], the child comes from the care of the mother and is always disguised as a little girl. Papa only has property on Fridays, and neither of the two professionals has office hours on Fridays. That is why he thinks, and I agree with him, that it is really unfair that the child is only presented in the counseling system under the auspices and control of one parent, ”explains Hanschen.

The parents also expressed disagreement about their son’s haircut length and schooling: while Georgulas takes the boy to public school, Younger wants him to be homeschooled because he is concerned that school will promote James’ feminine identity.
