Dad and mom in custody after 1-year-old discovered lifeless in Saginaw

SAGINAW, Michigan (WJRT) – Saginaw police are investigating the death of a one-year-old boy.

Police and paramedics went to the house on the 700 block on Stephens Street in the west of the city at around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. One person there called 911 and said a baby wasn’t breathing.

Rescue workers tried life-saving measures on the child but were unsuccessful and the little boy died.

The boy’s parents were in custody Tuesday afternoon after being charged with preliminary charges of second degree child abuse, suggesting that they may have treated the child negligently.

The parents were not identified on Tuesday afternoon as they had not been formally charged.
