Dad in Custody After Lacking Toddler Lady Discovered Protected Following New Jersey AMBER Alert – NBC New York

A vulnerable girl who went missing who set off an AMBER alert in New Jersey has been safely located and her father is currently in custody, according to New Jersey State Police.

Authorities were looking for the week-long Chinna Payne after she was last seen in East Orange, and they said she may have been with Damion Payne, a 27-year-old man who has been described by authorities as a suspect of disappearance and reportedly drove a 2016 white Nissan Altima with Virginia plates.

Although authorities warned against being armed with a pistol, the child was finally located safely and his father was taken into custody within an hour of the AMBER alert being sent.

According to Connie Jackson, East Orange City Information Officer, the baby has been classified as healthy by EMS and returned to her mother.

The child’s father is now charged with robbery, illegal possession of a weapon and endangering the well-being of a child. It is unclear whether Damion Payne kept a lawyer.
