Florida AMBER Alert canceled for toddler, girlfriend in custody

Kira Lawson is in custody as the Orange County Sheriff’s Office investigates.

ORLANDO, Fla. — A Florida AMBER Alert issued for a 1-year-old baby boy from Orlando has been canceled, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office says. He was reportedly found safe at around 10:30 pm Sunday night.

The toddler, Marcus Lyles, was in the car with his father’s girlfriend Saturday night when she drove off without the father’s permission, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said. Authorities said Kira Fae Lawson is in custody as the investigation continues.

Just before midnight on Saturday, authorities said 20-year-old Lawson left the Westgate Lake Resort & Spa on Turkey Lake Road in Orlando. Authorities are investigating the incident as a child abduction.

Authorities were searching for the two who could have been traveling in a 2011 blue Hyundai Sonata with Florida tag QXYF78, FDLE says.
