CHICAGO – Former Chicago Alderman Proco “Joe” Moreno was admitted to Cook County Jail Thursday.

The Chicago Tribune reports that a judge has ordered Moreno to come forward for violating his bail.

The former city council was recently accused of driving under the influence and reckless driving when he crashed into several parked cars on the city’s Gold Coast. According to a police report, his blood alcohol level was 0.32%, or four times the legal limit.

Prosecutors say this violates Moreno’s bond in his ongoing insurance fraud case.

Moreno will remain behind bars until next Friday when the judge calls a hearing to reconsider his bond.
