Fremont 6-year-old discovered protected; Father taken into custody

Fremont police say a 6-year-old boy who was kidnapped Thursday night has been brought to safety in Boonville, Missouri. His father, Tomas Juarez, 38, was taken into custody. Police said the child was abducted from a house on the 400 block on West Sixth Street around 7:30 p.m. Police said Juarez was not staying at the Boonville rest stop residence. The city north of Jefferson City is more than 300 miles from Fremont. Charges are pending against Juarez. Fremont police said arrangements would be made to bring the boy back to Nebraska.

Fremont police say a 6-year-old boy who was kidnapped Thursday night has been brought to safety in Boonville, Missouri.

His father, Tomas Juarez, 38, was taken into custody.

Police said the child was abducted from a house on the 400 block on West Sixth Street around 7:30 p.m. Police said Juarez did not live in the residence.

Police said they were advised of the couple’s whereabouts after reports they were seen at a truck stop in Boonville. The city north of Jefferson City is more than 300 miles from Fremont.

Charges are pending against Juarez. Fremont police said arrangements would be made to bring the boy back to Nebraska.
