Gary Owen responds to spouse’s little one assist accusations: ‘We now have adults’

Regardless of what his estranged wife says, Gary Owen wants to make it known that he is a devoted father.

During a recent interview on the Wendy Williams Show, the comedian responded to claims made by his wife that he was a “dead” father. If host Wendy Williams Owen asked about his relationship with his children, which he clarified with the words “We have adults”.

He went on to add: “No, really, because it turns out that I’m a surefire father, but our children are adults. “

Owen said his lawyer advised him to remain silent on the matter, but added, “My lawyer doesn’t want me to say anything.” Owen continued, “We have a lot of legal things to go through. But I have to say, there is a big twist in my divorce that a lot of people don’t know about. It’s a doozy, but I can’t talk about it yet. But it’s big. It changed the whole dynamic of divorce. “

As theGrio previously reported, Owen and Kenya Duke have been married since 2003 and have two grown children. In March, Duke filed for divorce in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Duke recently went to Instagram to approach him about his lack of parenting.

“You haven’t supported us since April 1st. Nothing, nada, zero not electricity, water, gas, no insurance (health, dental, life, auto, house etc), no groceries, no maintenance for the house, not the gas or the maintenance of the cars, not the platinum card I got for us (because you wanted one) and you couldn’t get one (yourself), not the cell phone you had for 23 years; Instead, you just got a different phone number and didn’t pay the bill, ”she wrote in the caption.

“All of our bills are attached to my SSN and my balance. You paid off the $ 4,500 mortgage associated with your SSN and credit (for the first time), but that’s it. You haven’t seen your daughter in over 6 1/2 months, you haven’t seen your son in over 4 months. That’s your choice. Do you remember us correctly ???? I “guess” we were useful when your content was needed. “

theGrio also reported that despite speculation, the official reasons for the couple’s split remain unclear. But documents received from TMZ reportedly show Duke is now applying for $ 44,000 a month in assistance.

She claims the amount she is claiming is what Owen would normally put into her account for bills, living expenses, and other miscellaneous necessities.

She also notes that she has been hired to give up her own emerging career to support her husband’s dreams of fame so that he is directly responsible for why she cannot cover her expenses on her own.

She then claims that her estranged husband’s monthly income typically fluctuates between $ 200,000 and $ 400,000 and never went below $ 100,000 a month even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the documents, Duke said it was common for her spouse to have unpaid checks between $ 300,000 and $ 600,000 and that because of his wealth, he was never in a rush to deposit them into his accounts.
