Girl in custody following Toluca Lake hit-and-run crash that killed 85-year-old girl

A 59-year-old woman was arrested in connection with an accident that killed an 85-year-old woman in Toluca Lake, authorities said Thursday.

The surveillance video of seeing the collision led to the identification of Lisa Lipman as a suspect driver, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a press release.

According to a police report, Lipman was driving her model four-door sedan in the Studio City and Valley Village area when she met a pedestrian on the crosswalk on Lankershim Boulevard at around 5:40 p.m. on December 27.

Lipman walked off the scene and didn’t stop helping, police said.

Paramedics responded to the scene and took the victim to a hospital where she died. She has not yet been identified.

Officers took Lipman into custody on December 30 after discovering she was driving the same car she believes she used in the accident when she left her Santa Monica home. She was sent to jail and, according to inmates, released after putting $ 50,000 on bail.

Lipman will appear again in court on June 24, 2021.
