Household of Adams County baby seeks fundraiser for assist to obtain help canine

ADAMS COUNTY, Pennsylvania – Evelyn Baumgardner was diagnosed with autism in the fall of 2020 and was recommended to have an autism support dog after therapy sessions and appointments.

The family has been approved for a service dog but must now raise $ 20,000 before being placed on the waiting list.

Currently they have raised approximately $ 5,000.

Victoria, Evelyn’s mother, says the dog is important to provide comfort and safety.

“Evie is Evie. We love her for all that she is, but she is very challenging when it comes to her mood swings and they can happen in the blink of an eye,” said Victoria Baumgardner of demeanor and being able to comfort her as well to offer the security it seeks. “
