HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – State police took a person into custody after two accidents shut down Interstate 91, causing long delays on Saturday.

The two accidents occurred around 6 p.m. on the south side of the highway in the Hartford area. Three vehicles were involved in one of the accidents, and the second accident occurred around the same time, two exits away.

Hartford fire service personnel informed WFSB-TV that a person involved in one of the accidents behaved irregularly at the scene and undressed. The person who was not identified was taken into custody by state police.

Reports of a child missing from one of the vehicles forced officers to close the highway, but the child was home. The accident caused delays for most of the Saturday evening.

A message was left with State Police on Sunday seeking updated information on the incident.
