Inside Teen Mother Briana DeJesus’ ex Devoin Austin’s transformation from troubled teen to stand-up dad
Teen Mom 2 FANS have watched Briana DeJesus’ ex-Devoin Austin over the years.
The 29-year-old has gone from being a restless teenager to a stand-up dad.

MTV viewers first met Devoin when he appeared alongside Briana, 27, on 16 & Pregnant.
Briana and Devoin, who now star in Teen Mom 2, share nine-year-old daughter Nova.
Devoin was notoriously absent during Briana’s pregnancy, while Briana even kept him off her daughter’s birthday certificate.
LEGAL PROBLEMS
The MTV star has been arrested multiple times over the years.
In 2013 and 2014, Devoin was arrested for possession of marijuana.
According to Starcasm, court documents relating to the 2014 arrest said he was stopped for legal tagging when a police officer noticed “the smell of burned cannabis from the driver’s side window”.
He was later arrested in 2017 on a pending arrest warrant after failing to attend a court hearing in 2016 for a previous arrest for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Devoin seems to have teamed up since then and has appeared as Nova’s father.
Based on his social media posts and appearances on the MTV show, Devoin appears to be actively involved in his daughter’s life.
MONEY WORRIES
However, Briana has raised her concerns that Devoin is not making a financial contribution.
The couple have argued over the subject several times, most recently when they got into a screaming match over the matter during the Teen Mom 2 reunion in July.
When Briana criticized Devoin for not supporting her daughter financially, he insisted that he be helping out since finding a new job.
However, Briana argued, “But now that you can, you should because the last time you helped financially with a bill was a while – a few months ago.”
He encouraged her to “set a number” that he should pay each month, although she replied, “Every time we talk about our financial situation, you become so offensive.”
‘KEEP THE F ** K UP’
Devoin then called on Briana about her own expensive spending habits and she told him to “shut up” while they yelled at each other.
Nova’s father complained that she could talk more than he could, while Briana replied, “Every time we talk about money he gets so nervous.”
The Teen Mom 2 star then defended himself for buying expensive shoes, shouting, “Listen, I took care of Nova in front of MTV.
“Let’s remember, Teen Mom 2 got canceled for a while and I had my 9-5 job. Who the hell was looking after her back then? Not a damn MTV. Me!
“The thing is, I can buy these shoes because you know what? My damn child bills and my damn king prepaid. I’m never late with my bills.
“You can buy a damn pair of jeans for $ 500, but all you can do for Nova is buy her damn pair of trainers. You are not doing what you have to do as a father. You do the bare minimum. “
Briana tore her baby daddy on while shouting, “You’re not a real man!”
After the MTV star accused Devoin of being a “liar” when he said he would not “pop bottles in the club,” he got up and left the set.
He exclaimed that he was “done” when he took off his microphone and left the studio.
When he left the studio, he shared his plans to spend the rest of the day with his girlfriend Jazmine Williams.
The argument isn’t the first time the exes have quarreled over finances, as a similar argument took place during last season’s reunification.
Devoin still appears to be struggling with money management as he previously admitted that he “threw away his rent” while gambling.
JOIN FOR STELLA
The most recent reunion was also a heartwarming moment between the exes as Briana thanked Devoin for being a part of the life of her four year old daughter Stella.
She shares her youngest daughter, her ex Luis Hernandez, who is constantly missing from Stella’s life.
Briana broke down in an emotional reunion when she approached Devoin.
She said, “This is so hard. My poor little Stella. Thank you. Thank you for loving Stella.”
Devoin replied, “Thank you for letting me do it,” as Briana gushed, “She loves you so much.”
NO ‘DEADBEAT DAD’
Nova’s father recently slammed MTV when he accused the network of portraying him as a “dead father”.
While going on his Instagram story, Devoin shared a message that said, “I’m just sending you a little appreciation and support. From the moment we were introduced to you on TV, the tale that you are a deadbeat has been shoved down our throats.
“Nobody buys this action anymore! You’re a great daddy for Nova, and the way you stood up for Stella is the cutest thing ever.
“Keep doing what you are doing and know that it will not go unnoticed.”
Devoin replied, “I really wish I didn’t have to get these kinds of messages. Don’t nobody buy shit like that @mtv, @teenmom, @viacomcbs …”
BRIANA PRAISE DEVOIN
The day before his post, Briana praised Devoin for “moving up” after beating him for failing to pay Nova’s child support.
Briana announced in a long post that has now expired: “I have to say something! People change. People grew. You can’t ALWAYS hold me responsible for the things I’ve said in the past.
“Those were real emotions and also very valid ones! I give credit where it’s due! If I really thought someone was bad for my children, I wouldn’t have the girls around. “
“I give recognition where it is appropriate, and I have said my peace (: but only because I recognize that recognition does not mean that the things that are not fulfilled are simply ignored. We have grown up and make sacrifices for our children I will always fight to make my children better.
“There is tons of potential out there and I think once all of these categories are met there will be so many more opportunities for others as well. open myself up. Let us pray for it. “
“I don’t think people understand that all I ever wanted was for my children to have high-ranking fathers. A dad I didn’t really have, and other than that, I didn’t like half the shit and I knew there was potential so I fought hard for it.
“Others may see it as keeping my children away or others will call me bitter, but what would I be bitter about? I don’t fall into that category. I only want the best for my children and I think that justifies a lot of my actions or words. “
