Roff

Elizabeth J. Roff has joined Stellpflug Law PLLC as a partner.

With more than 10 years of courtroom experience, Roff has taken the lead in more than 400 civil cases with commercial losses, with an emphasis on design defects and product liability disputes. Her career highlights include numerous successful court judgments, settlement decisions and dismissals.

Roff co-authored the Minnesota Commercial General Liability Insurance Policy: Annotated, published by the Minnesota Court of Appeals at Grinnell Mutual Insurance Co. v Ripley, No. A09-179 (Minn. Ct. App., Dec. 29) as Authority was cited, 2009). She is also the lead author of the Post Loss Duties of an Insured Chapter of the Minnesota Continuing Legal Education Deskbook.

Roff mentors law students at Minnesota Women Lawyers, serves on the board of the Twin Cities Claims Association, and co-chairs the Construction Law and MVA committees of the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association.

It is licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Anne Haaland and Scott Emery

Anne Haaland and Scott Emery were elected Henson Efron’s newest shareholders effective January 1st.

Anne Haaland is part of the firm’s Family Law Practice Group. She handles cases such as divorce, custody and parental leave, child benefits, spousal support and complex property sharing. Haaland was recognized as a Minnesota Super Lawyer in 2017-20, and was most recently recognized as an Up & Coming Attorney by Minnesota Lawyer.

Haaland holds a law degree from the State University of New York from Buffalo Law School.

Scott Emery is a member of the Business & Estate, Trust & Estate practice groups. He advises individuals and companies in important areas of business and tax law. His knowledge and experience includes company formation, company buying and selling, executive compensation, estate tax, and tax planning and compliance.

Emery received a law degree and a Master of Laws in Taxation from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.

Mark A. Hallberg

Veteran litigator Mark A. Hallberg has joined Robins Kaplan’s Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice Group. For more than 41 years, Hallberg has represented individuals and families in medical misconduct, personal injury and death. During this period he initiated more than 75 legal proceedings against the jury.

Hallberg has been certified as a civil litigation specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and the Minnesota State Bar Association for over 25 years. He is also a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers (by invitation only) and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

In addition to his litigation practice, Hallberg was Associate Professor at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where he has taught the Medical Malpractice Course for more than 20 years.

Effective January 1, Faegre Drinker has promoted three attorneys in Minneapolis to attorney.

Rhiannon Beckendorf advises clients on labor and employment issues. Her perspective as a former internal consultant for an international company helps her to offer employers of all sizes comprehensive compliance and training solutions as well as transaction-related advice.

Nicholas Nelson is a seasoned trial attorney in the US Supreme Court and appeals courts. He analyzes, informs and solves complex legal issues for clients, in appeal proceedings and in court. Nelson has extensive experience dealing with forum selection and broadcasting issues when a defendant faces similar claims in multiple jurisdictions.

Evelyn (Evie) Snyder is a litigator who represents clients in complex legal disputes. She advises and advocates clients primarily on environmental disputes and government matters.

Stinson LLP has announced the election of three partners in its Minneapolis office, effective January 1st.

Ben Eastburn assists clients across the country in litigation, arbitration, and transactional matters including building and construction defects, guaranteed energy savings, government contracts, energy and transportation matters, and pledge, bond and reasonable price adjustment claims. Prior to joining Stinson, Eastburn served as Vice President and General Counsel for a specialty construction and project manager for a shipyard, planning and overseeing maintenance and repairs for two US Navy guided missile destroyers. He earned his JD from Regent University School of Law.

Iain Johnson represents builders, lenders, management agents, REITs, retailers and developers in commercial real estate transactions of all sizes. In his practice he focuses on the financing of affordable housing projects and building loans. In addition, Johnson frequently acts as a local attorney, advising on a variety of real estate matters. He received his JD from the University of Iowa College of Law.

Justin Seitz advises business owners, management and internal consultants on all aspects of business operations, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, succession and estate planning, and shareholder relations. His experience in family business enables him to better support multi-generation families and private business owners in developing personalized estate plans and offering more comprehensive succession and exit planning strategies. Seitz received his JD from the University of St. Thomas School of Law.

Brandie Morgenroth

Brandie Morgenroth joined Nilan Johnson Lewis in Minneapolis on January 1.

Morgenroth focuses in her practice on product liability and mass defense and represents manufacturers, suppliers and retailers on a regional and national level. She advises clients on regulatory issues, CPSC investigations and recalls. and advises on preventive measures to minimize process costs.

Morgenroth is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. She is an active member of the ICPHSO (International Organization for the Health and Safety of Consumer Products) and the Defense Research Institute. Brandie has authored numerous articles and given several presentations on product liability, regulation and preventative issues.

Chelsea J. Bodin Christopher T. Ruska

Chelsea J. Bodin and Christopher T. Ruska joined the Labor and Employment team at Nilan Johnson Lewis of Minneapolis.

Bodin has experience representing employers in labor relations, FLSA / pay-and-hour, employment and disability discrimination cases, and providing employment advice and preventive advice. She also gained experience with the patchwork of laws and regulations resulting from the pandemic. Bodin is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School and spent a semester in law school in Sweden on a master’s degree in international and EU tax law. She is a member of Minnesota Women Lawyers, the MSBA Labor and Labor Law Division, and SHRM. She is also a commissioner for the St. Louis Park Police Advisory Commission and a volunteer clinic worker for Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services (SMRLS).

RussiaLicensed in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, he teaches his writing skills complex employment issues. He primarily focuses on litigation, including workplace discrimination, trade secrets, and non-compete obligations. After graduating from the University of Minnesota Law School, Ruska worked for several years as a clerk for three judges at the Wisconsin Court of Appeal. He is a member of the Minnesota State, Hennepin County, Ramsey County, and Wisconsin Bar Associations. Chris is also a soccer referee mentor. It comes from his years as a referee for soccer games for the United Soccer League (USL), Major League Soccer (MLS) and the Big Ten.

Macey L. Muller

Macey L. Muller joined the multi-family and commercial real estate finance and real estate teams at Moss & Barnett, A Professional Association. Her work is primarily focused on representing lenders who take out secured loans through multi-family real estate projects and sell them to secondary market investors, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. As part of this practice, Müller carries out title reviews, survey reviews and other due diligence reviews, reviews legal opinions and prepares loan documents.

Before joining Moss & Barnett, Müller worked as an external judge with Judge Mark J. Kappelhoff at the Hennepin District Court.

Mueller received her JD from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she earned her business law certificate, and her BA from Iowa State University.
