Job and Family Services honors employees for service

FREMONT – On July 14th, the Sandusky County Job and Family Services Department held a recognition event to honor the years of service of temporary workers who have reached their anniversary.

Receipt of the following years of service as follows:

30 years of service: Elaine Franks, Account Clerk 2, Fiscal Division and Jackie Mowry, Supervisor, Child Support Division.

20 years of service: Lisa Mullholder, Clerk 30 Days to Family, Child Services Department.

15 years of service: Davi Anderson, Assignee 3, Public Aid Department; Dawn Ohms, SSW4 / QA, Children’s Services Department; Karen Riegel, supervisor, finance department; JILL WAGNER, Supervisor, Public Aid Department.

Five years of service: Kristi McEwen, Authorization Worker 3, Public Support Department; and Chasity Minor, Authorization Worker 3, Public Aid Department.

One year of service: Johanna Baun, social worker 3, child services department; Jacob Berryman, Authorized Employee 3, Human Resources Development Department; Melanie Craig, Social Worker 1, Child Services Department; Melissa Cruz, Investigator 1, Child Support Division; Brenda Mulcahy, Investigator 2, Child Support Division; Hailie Prater, Social Worker 3, Child Services Department; Summer Repass, Supervisor, Children’s Services Department; Abby Roberts, Personnel Development Specialist, Personnel Development Department; Amber Sidoti, Assignee 3, Public Aid Department.

In addition, the All Star award winners were announced “on site”. This is a list of people recognized by peers for going above and beyond.

Goodwill hires Michel as a resource development manager

SANDUSKY – Crystal Michel joins the Goodwill team as Resource Development Manager. Crystal graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in humanities and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Northeastern University. Michel previously worked with the March of Dimes, Kendra’s House, and the Huron County’s Family and Children First Council.

Michel accepted the position with the words: “I believe in the mission of Goodwill and I believe it is important to give something back to the community that has given me something in the twenty years that I have lived here.”

Goodwill Industries’ Sandusky office serves Ottawa, Sandusky, Erie, and Huron counties.

Orthopedics from Firelands Physician treating patients in Bellevue

BELLEVUE – Bellevue Hospital recently welcomed Firelands Physician Group Sandusky Orthopedics to the hospital’s clinics for special medical services.

Orthopedic surgeons Thomas A. Olexa, MD, and Justin Kelley, DO recently joined the medical staff at Bellevue Hospital and began treating patients in Bellevue through TBH’s specialist clinic in late June.

“Bellevue Hospital is providing this clinical space so our community members can see the specialists they need near where they live,” said Timothy A. Buit, President and Chief Executive Officer of TBH. “By working with our local and regional health partners such as the Firelands Physician Group Sandusky Orthopedics, we can offer expanded services so that our community members can stay in our region and not have to travel to larger cities for special services.”
