Joint custody of son, no spousal assist

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Adele will share custody of her 8-year-old son and will not pay child support to her ex-husband, Simon Konecki. This emerges from divorce papers the Associated Press received on Wednesday.

The couple separated in August 2019 and Adele filed for divorce the following month. A judge in Los Angeles finalized the divorce last week.

According to the documents, 32-year-old Adele and 46-year-old Konecki used mediation to amicably reach the terms of the split. Both waived the right to seek spousal support, and both consented to the legal and physical custody of their son Angelo, who was born in 2012. The newspapers say they will try to solve any problems without litigation.

Adele kept her original legal name, Adele Adkins, throughout their marriage.

The British singing superstar married Konecki, co-founder of Life Water, an environmentally friendly bottled water brand, in May 2018. But she referred to him as “my husband” during a 2017 Grammy acceptance speech, and the two had been a couple for several years when they got married.

The singer’s last album, “25”, was released in 2015, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the fall of another. But Adele was a mother when it finally arrived. On her birthday in 2019, the singer committed to take some time in an Instagram post.

“31 is going to be a big old year and I’m going to spend it all on myself,” she wrote. “For the first time in a decade, I am ready to feel the world around me and look up once.”

Last October, Adele made a rare public appearance on NBC’s “SNL” – not as a musical guest, but as a presenter. In her sweet, funny monologue, Adele answered questions about her “SNL” performance and her weight loss.

“I know there has been a lot of talk about how I’m just the host. I’ve seen it all. Why isn’t she the musical guest?” She said. “There are a couple of reasons. My album isn’t finished yet, and I’m too scared to do both. I’d rather put on a couple of wigs … have a glass or six of wine and just see what happens.”

As for her changed appearance, the British singer joked, “I know I look really, really different since you last saw me, but because of all the COVID restrictions and travel bans, I’ve had to travel lightly and only those Bring half of me and that’s the half that I chose. “
