Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West each ask for joint custody in divorce | Kim Kardashian West

Kanye West has agreed with Kim Kardashian West that they should have joint custody of their four children and that neither of them will need spousal assistance following new divorce papers.

West lawyers filed his response in the Los Angeles Supreme Court on Friday regarding the divorce from Kardashian West, which had been filed seven weeks earlier. With that began the process of ending their six and a half year marriage.

West’s filing was virtually identical to Kardashian West’s original petition stating that the marriage should end because of irreconcilable differences and that the two should share custody of their children: North, seven years, Saint, five years, Chicago, three years and Psalm, who will be two next month.

And as with the Kardashian West filing, West is demanding that the court’s right to provide spousal support to a person be terminated.

According to Kardashian West’s petition on Feb. 19, the two entered into a marriage agreement that kept their property separate throughout their marriage.

The divorce petitions end one of the most-visited celebrity unions in decades, between 40-year-old reality TV superstar Kardashian West and 43-year-old rap and fashion mogul West.

It was the first marriage for West and the third for Kardashian West that the court did not ask to change her name back to Kardashian, although she may still do so during the divorce process.
