One in custody, one dead after a domestic violence incident in East King County

An investigation is ongoing after a domestic violence incident was reported near Woodinville. One person has died and one is in custody.

The King County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an 8-year-old child as a homicide after a “domestic disorder” involving his father.

On February 9, just before 8:00 am, MPs were called to a house in the English Hill community of unincorporated King County east of Redmond to report a “domestic disorder”.

When MPs entered the house, they saw an 8-year-old child dead and their 37-year-old father injured with self-inflicted injuries.

The father was taken to hospital and detained for his non-life threatening injuries.

Nobody was injured and there are no other suspects.

Neighbors expressed concern about the violence nearby and said the community is usually calm and peaceful.

“That doesn’t happen here,” said neighbor Nancy King. “It’s just super unusual.”

The King County Medical Examiner’s office arrived in the neighborhood late Tuesday afternoon.

Additional updates may be available as the King County Sheriff’s office continues its investigation.
