(Des Moines, Iowa) – A man is in custody after Des Moines police alleged he broke into an apartment through a nursery window late Wednesday night.
The break-in occurred in the 2000 block on King Avenue. Police say a child in the apartment woke up to find the burglar removing the window pane and trying to get in. The child and two adult residents of the apartment fled and called the police.
The officers arrived at the scene and found Michael Henle hiding in the kitchen. Police say he searched the apartment for cash and credit cards.
Henle is currently being held in Polk County Jail.
