Man who barricaded himself in development website was shot, taken into custody

A man barricaded himself at a construction site in Council Bluffs was shot dead and taken into custody. Near East Kanesville Boulevard and Baughn, the streets were closed for hours for most of the afternoon. KETV NewsWatch 7 has learned that the fugitive task force is looking for the man on an arrest warrant from Sarpy County. According to US marshals, the man is facing an arrest warrant for sexual assault on a child. U.S. marshals said task force members tried to arrest the man at the construction site around 10:30 a.m., but he refused to leave an excavator he was operating.The negotiators were on site trying to convince him for almost eight hours long to get off. The incident ended around 7 p.m. Pottawattamie County officials told KETV NewsWatch 7 that the man is alive and has been rushed to the hospital in critical condition. It’s unclear who fired the shot.
