Mom loses first battle for youngster’s custody

The Paphos District Court denied the mother’s motion to overturn the family court ruling that requires the child to return to his father in the United States.

The court did not accept any of the reasons given by the mother’s lawyer.

The single parent organization that supports the mother called on the Attorney General to step in and change the facts.

The father’s attorney said the whole problem was due to the way the mother handled the entire case, as she planned her escape from the United States in such a way that it would be exposed to justice.

In its ruling, the Paphos District Court mentioned that there was no evidence that the child was in serious danger if they returned to the US. It has also not been shown to have adapted to life in Cyprus and will be affected when it returns to the US.
