Mount Vernon girl discovered responsible of plot to kill ex-husband

MOUNT VERNON, Washington (AP) – A Mount Vernon woman was convicted of indictment of murder after a jury found she tried to convince her child to kill his father by stopping his food and drink Added rat poison.

Vanessa Valdiglesias-Lavalle, 37, was also found guilty of a first-degree attack using a harmful substance last week, The Skagit Valley Herald reported.

During the two and a half day trial, Skagit County Attorney Rich Weyrich alleged that Valdiglesias-Lavalle and her ex-husband were in the middle of a divorce in which Valdiglesias-Lavalle had lost custody of their two sons and was due to their ex by mid-2020 -Man pay child support.

While visiting her sons on June 3, 2020, the older boy told his mother that he could kill his father by putting “poison” or rat poison in his food and drink.

Valdiglesias-Lavalle told her son that she and the boys could live together forever after his father’s death, prosecutors said.

Valdiglesias-Lavalle faces 15 years in prison for early release.
