Mumbai: Courtroom rejects physician’s plea for custody of daughter

Daijiworld Media Network – Mumbai

Mumbai, January 14th: A district court denied a doctor’s request for her five-year-old child to be temporarily detained. The court asked how the child would be cared for during his absence from work. The complainant stated that she lives as a paying guest and that she has received a house in a nearby location and submitted a copy of the agreement.

However, the court asked who will take care of the child while the applicant is at work.

Although her husband worked, he would live in a common family and make sure the child is looked after, the court said.

The woman had filed a domestic violence case against her husband and in law, while the husband had made allegations against his wife’s character. She said the couple were married in February 2010 and were treated well for about five to six months. She was then tortured both physically and mentally.
