A man from Benton, Missouri, is in custody for child molestation.

Dustin M. Carter, 36, was detained in Cape Girardeau County Prison for first degree child abuse, a Class B crime.

Carter reportedly inappropriately touched a minor victim on multiple occasions, according to a statement on the likely cause.

Carter remains in jail for bailing Judge Scott Lipke for $ 25,000 in cash only.

Carter was granted a change of judge during a hearing on Monday and it was decided that Judge Craig Brewer would now oversee the case. No further hearings are planned as of Wednesday.
