Northeast Information | Replace: Police discover lacking baby, mom in custody

Update, 11:45 am Friday, December 11th: King has been found and she is safe. KCPD was informed around 11:15 am that she was in a residence here in Kansas City and was unharmed.

An investigation into the risk to children is currently ongoing. The mother is currently in custody. Police assume a file will be filed with the prosecutor today to investigate the charges.

Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) officials continue to search for 3-year-olds Noriyah King, a black woman, Friday morning.

King was last seen in the 38th and Highland area on Thursday, December 10th at 7pm.

King is three feet tall and 45 pounds. She may be wearing an orange or pink coat. She was last seen in dark pants with the words “Frozen” on it and a dark shirt with a blonde character in a star (see photo with Santa Claus).

“We are working with her mother to gather as much information as possible,” Becchina said. “Officials extensively searched the area near the house, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department also helped. We also used the K9 drones. “

They will work with their parents all morning to gather more information. Detectives remain confident that someone knows where she is.

“Investigators will be back in the area this morning to re-advertise while people wake up and we hope someone will watch the broadcast and notify us with information about their location,” Becchina said.

According to the KCPD, this case does not currently meet the criteria for issuing an Amber Alert.

“That doesn’t mean we don’t explore and seek the full extent of our capabilities,” Becchina said.
