Now-adult baby in civil union custody battle seeks elimination from swimsuit

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) – The now 18-year-old woman, who has been caught in a year-long same-sex custody battle, wants her name removed from the civil lawsuit filed on her behalf in 2012.

Lisa Miller is being prosecuted in Buffalo for bringing her daughter Isabella to Nicaragua in 2009 instead of sharing custody of her with her former civil union partner, Janet Jenkins, of Fair Haven, Vermont.

In an affidavit, drafted in Nicaragua but filed in federal court in Burlington, Vermont, on Wednesday, Isabella Miller says she is happy and willingly staying in Nicaragua and will return to the US if she wants.
