One suspect in custody in slaying of 11-year-old boy; two nonetheless at massive » Albuquerque Journal

One woman was arrested in connection with the violent murder of an 11-year-old boy from Monterey Park.

Identified as Joseph Hobbs, the boy was shot dead in a house on the 30 block of Carmel Drive, on the east side of Valencia county.

Valencia County Sheriff’s Office MPs responded to several emergency calls that reported a malfunction in the residence shortly after 3 p.m. on Saturday. When they arrived, they found Joseph dead after suffering a catastrophic gunshot wound.

The initial investigation found that there were at least three suspects present at the time of the shooting – Alexandria Tabora, 40, her son Santos Mateo Garcia, 21, and Erik Carrillo-Garcia, 24. All three suspects are from Monterey Park. and are charged with murderous crimes.

These suspects fled the scene in a vehicle before law enforcement arrived.

MPs contacted several witnesses at the house where Hobbs was killed, including his mother and younger brother.

According to a press release from the VCSO, the three suspects were in the house to visit friends.

VCSO investigators and New Mexico State Police crime scene investigators spent the night editing the location.

A prosecutor from the 13th Judicial Prosecutor’s Office was tasked with the investigation and is working closely with detectives. The first home investigation was completed around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Arrest warrants against Tabora, Garcia and Carrillo-Garcia were issued this afternoon. The Valencia County Sheriff’s Office, along with members of the U.S. Marshal and the NMSP Tactical Team, initiated a cursory arrest. ON

Tabora was taken into custody just before 7 p.m. on Sunday. It is questioned and processed in the sheriff’s office.

Various law enforcement agencies are continuing their search for additional refugees.

The US Marshals Office has spent up to $ 15,000 on information leading to the arrest of those directly responsible for the child’s death.

Details of Joseph’s cause of death are pending until an autopsy is performed in the medical examiner’s office on Monday, March 8th.
