Particular person of curiosity taken into custody in Inexperienced Co. new child murder

ALBANY, Wisconsin (WMTV) – Authorities have detained a person interested in the death investigation of a newborn in Green County, the Department of Justice released Monday.

The death is being investigated as murder, according to a press release.

Authorities released photos of a person walking in Albany on Tuesday, January 5, and asked the public to help them with their investigation by checking it out. The DOJ asked anyone who saw this person or has information about them to call the Green County Sheriff’s Department at 608-328-9400.

The Wisconsin Justice Department says the newborn girl, who was reported missing in the village of Albany, was found dead on Sunday.

According to the Green County Sheriff’s Office, the child was born at home on Tuesday, January 5th. The father is said to have taken the child out of the house. Authorities began looking for the child on Saturday, January 9th.

The father told investigators that he gave the child to an “unidentified third party” and that the child has not been seen since. The individual should be an acquaintance of the father.

Authorities say whoever took the child was believed to have driven a gray Chevrolet Equinox. You are no longer looking for this vehicle.
