Prius driver in custody after allegedly attempting to get away from deputies close to Houston

MEPs used spike strips to remove the left tire from the vehicle.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A person was arrested late Thursday after a car chase north of Houston.

The chase happened around 10 p.m. on the Eastex Freeway

Harris County Pct. 4 deputy constables said they were chasing a Toyota Prius that would not stop. It is believed that a man drove the car with a woman in the passenger seat and at least one child in the back seat.

The MPs put in spike strips that removed the left tires.

Finally, the driver who called the dispatchers once during the pursuit had to stop not far from bypass road 8. He was arrested without further incident and no injuries were reported.

It is not known why the MPs first tried to stop the Prius.
