Qari remanded in FIA custody in baby pornography case in Karachi – Pakistan

KARACHI: A local court on Saturday arrested a seminary teacher under the custody of the Federal Investigation Agency on a child pornography-related case.

The FIA ​​said Friday it had arrested a religion teacher on allegations of child pornography and molesting a teenage girl.

On Saturday, the investigator brought the suspect before the judge concerned to apply for his pre-trial detention in police custody for questioning and investigation.

The IO mentioned that the FIA’s Cyber ​​Crime Circle had arrested the suspect in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on a complaint lodged by a woman.

According to the complainant, she had hired a qari (religion teacher) to teach her children at home.

Later, her 13-year-old daughter complained that she had been physically abused by the Qari, the IO said, adding that the teenage girl also complained that the defendant allegedly also took her obscene pictures and is on tried to molest them and blackmail them and demand money.

The IO announced that a cell phone had been recovered from the suspect’s custody and sent to a laboratory for forensic analysis and that obscene images of the victim / minor girl were found in the device.

He requested a 14-day pre-trial detention of the suspect in the custody of the FIA ​​for questioning and the conclusion of the investigation.

However, the judge ordered the suspect into pre-trial detention at the FIA ​​for three days and instructed the IO to bring him along with an investigation report the next day.

One case was registered under Sections 22 (Spam) and 24 (Legal Recognition of Crimes Related to the Information System) of the Electronic Crime Prevention Act of 2016 and Section 109 (Favoring) of the Pakistani Criminal Code.
