Reba McEntire’s Household, From Nation Singers to Achieved Athletes

Beyond her social media friendly relationship with the actor Rex Linn, Reba McEntire has deep family relationships with other musicians and even a few jocks, from her father as a steering wheel driver to her son as a racing driver.

Read on to meet some of McEntire’s current and former relatives.

Your father, Clark Vincent McEntire

Clark followed in his father’s footsteps, John McEntire, and became a Champion Steer Roper. Reba and the father of her siblings ruled as the world’s best roper in 1957, 1958 and 1961.

Clark died on October 23, 2014.

Her mother, Jacqueline Smith McEntire

Mom had country dreams of her own and passed her musical passions on to her children.

McEntire’s mother died on March 14, 2020.

Your brother, Pake McEntire

Reba, Susie and Pake performed as Singing McEntires while Reba was still in high school. As a trio, the siblings honored their grandfather, the world champion, with the song “The Ballad of John McEntire”.

Pake made his own impression as a country singerand scored three top 20 hits in 1986.

Her older sister Alice Foran

Older sister Alice Foran was the only McEntire sister who did not take part in the family chant group. She is now a retired social worker living in her home state of Oklahoma.

Her younger sister, Susie McEntire-Eaton

The younger sister Susie was drawn to gospel music. She toured with her sister Reba in the ’80s and appeared on two of their albums, Heart to Heart (1981) and Unlimited (1982).

Susie released her first solo album in 1993, True lovewho reached the top 40 on the Christian radio charts. Since then, she has released at least 10 other albums, including more Christian and gospel tracks, as well as a Christmas album. She was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. These days she is involved in cowboy churches alongside her husband Mark Eaton.

Her first husband, Charlie Battles

McEntire was married from 1976 to 1987 to control wrestling champion and rancher Charlie Battles. Battles was ten years her senior and had two sons from a previous marriage.

Her second husband, Narvel Blackstock

McEntire married Blackstock, their manager and former steel guitarist, in 1989. The couple led McEntire’s career as the Starstruck Management Group.

In a joint statement released on August 3, 2015, it was announced that the couple had been separated for months after 26 years of marriage.

McEntire’s former stepson Brandon Blackstock

Fans can recognize the Blackstock surname by Kelly Clarksonis ex Brandon Blackstock, a talent agent who is one of Narvel’s children prior to his relationship with McEntire.

Like his father, Brandon was a talent manager and music professional and met future wife Kelly Clarkson in 2006. At that time he was still married to his first wife, Melissa Ashworth. Blackstock and Clarkson were married on October 20, 2013.

The celebrity couple have two children, daughter River Rose and son Remington Alexander. Blackstock has two other children, Savannah and Seth, from his first marriage.

News of their divorce was released in 2020 and the couple cited irreconcilable differences. Court documents received from People revealed that the couple will share joint and physical custody of their children, with Kelly having primary custody in Los Angeles. Clarkson will remain in California for roles on The Kelly Clarkson Show and NBC The Voice, while Blackstock will reside in Montana.

The latest court documents (as of December 2020) show that Blackstock is seeking a whopping $ 436,000 monthly support from the original American Idol. TMZ reported that $ 301,000 of the entire Blackstock grant would be used for spousal support, while the remaining $ 135,000 would cover child support payments. Blackstock is also asking for $ 2 million to cover legal fees.

There are also legal matters alleging Clarkson owes the Starstruck management company unpaid commissions. Clarkson counteredand alleges that the Blackstock family talent agency violates the California Labor Commission Code by offering “illegal services” when “obtaining, offering, promising or attempting work or engagements.”

Brandon runs the Starstruck management company with his father. Notable clients include Brandon Blake Shelton.

McEntire’s son Shelby Blackstock

Reba’s only son is an accomplished full-time racing driver who made his debut in a Ford Mustang in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. In 2012 he took part in the US F2000 National Championship with Andretti Autosport. He also finished eighth in points with a best fourth place in Road America. In 2015 he drove for Andretti Autosport in the Indy Lights series. He switched to touring car racing in 2019 and finished fourth in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. In 2020 he and co-driver Trent Hindman won the GT World Challenge America in an Acura NSX.

Blackstock is busy, engaged to girlfriend Marissa Branch.

McEntire’s niece, Calamity McEntire

Pake’s daughter Calamity follows the family’s athletic legacy. But instead of abseiling down, she trains women’s basketball as an assistant Dayton University.

She has also left her own mark on pop music. Calamity’s use of the phrase “pick their weeds and keep the flowers” while chatting with Clarkson inspired the idol winner’s song “Sober, “for which Calamity shares the songwriting credit.
