The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss is calling out Andy Cohen for questioning her daughter Riley about her estranged father on WWHL.
Kandi Burruss from The Real Housewives of Atlanta is throwing shade at Andy Cohen for asking her daughter Riley Burruss about her estranged dad during an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Kandi isn’t typically known for quarreling with production. In fact, she has maintained amicable ties with Bravo network executives, which have helped her to secure the most spin-offs of any housewife. However, before her roles as a singer, writer, entrepreneur, and reality star, Kandi is a proud mother of three, who protects her children at all costs.
Kandi has revealed a lot about herself over the 13 seasons she’s appeared on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The mother of three shares her eldest daughter Riley with her ex Russell Spencer, also known as “Block,” and two young children with her husband, Todd Tucker. However, Kandi didn’t say much about her ex on the show. Riley has touched on the relationship she has with her father, but he has never been seen on the show. Russell isn’t supportive of Kandi’s narrative about him, and he gave his side of the story in a tell-all interview.

Speed up to Riley appearing on WWHL as a bartender, which was when Andy decided to ask the 19-year-old about her estranged father. Kandi was offended that the executive producer would ask her child about such a sensitive topic. “I didn’t say anything to him about it, but I didn’t really like when he brought up my daughter’s father to her on camera on ‘Live,’” Kandi said, as per the The Sl*t Pig Podcast on Instagram , when asked about the last time Andy “upset” her. Kandi explained how her eldest daughter became the bartender on the show. It was a last-minute decision after the original bartender was late to the taping. Kandi says Riley wasn’t “prepped” to be asked about such a “sensitive topic” on live television.
While Kandi liked how her daughter “handled” the situation, she didn’t appreciate Andy asking the question. It was during Riley’s appearance on WWHL last week when the Bravo executive producer asked the NYU student if her “relationship with your dad improved at all?” Riley replied, “I don’t remember the last time I spoke to him, so that answers that question.” Her update came two years after Riley opened up in Season 13 about her estranged father.While packing up to go away to college, Riley told Kandi that she felt it was time for her father to “provide something” for her, since she was going At the season 13 reunion, Kandi revealed that she won a case ordering “Block” to pay a lump sum of owed child support for Riley.
Kandi is extremely successful in her own career, and didn’t need Block’s money to look after Riley financially. However, all the time lost between the father and daughter is definitely a sad thing. Kandi has done a good job in terms of keeping Riley’s personal business off The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The last thing she wants is for her daughter to get badgered with questions about her estranged father on live television. Andy might want to reach out to Kandi to apologize, and clear the air ahead of the season 14 reunion.
