Sharon Stone revealed she ‘could not operate’ after dropping the custody of her son Roan in 2008

Sharon Stone reported on her custody battle over her son Roan after her divorce from journalist Phil Bronstein in 2004.

The 63-year-old Basic Instinct actress lost her appeal for custody of her then eight-year-old son Roan in 2008, four years after her split from Bronstein.

She has now published a book called The Beauty of Living Twice reflecting on her career and personal struggles, including a life-threatening stroke that stalled her career in 2001 when she was 43 years old.

In an interview with Saga magazine in an interview published next week, the Hollywood star revealed that after losing custody of her son, she could no longer function and would spend her days crying.

Court records distributed at the time showed Stone wanted to put botox in her son’s feet to keep them from smelling, and the judge said Stone’s “overreaction” to medical problems was a painful “problem” for the child, Hello Magazine reported .

“Furthermore, because it has come to a point where the father is basically turning the mother off for overreacting to so many alleged medical problems in the past,” the judge added on the court records.

“After I lost custody of Roan, I couldn’t function anymore. I was just lying on the couch. I was so damn tired. I would cry, ”she said.

“I couldn’t concentrate on anything other than having my son in my arms again. Nothing else mattered, just getting him back, ”she added.

Stone has since signed a confidentiality agreement about the custody battle.

The star was married to Roan’s father Phil Bronstein, 70, from 1998 to 2004.

At the height of his career, Bronstein was a noted war correspondent and investigative journalist who was a finalist in the Pultizer Prize for reporting on the overthrow of Filipino dictator Ferdinand Marcos in 1986.

Stone wanted Phil to have a family but was having trouble conceiving. The star suffered three miscarriages before the couple adopted Roan in 2000.

After their life-changing stroke in 2001 and the end of their marriage three years later, the couple entered a bitter custody battle that Stone lost.

Phil was given custody and her son visited Sharon every month.

Roan, 21, is taking his first steps in the acting world and will appear in What About Love, starring Andy Garcia as father.

After the divorce, Sharon adopted their son Laird in 2005 and their son Quinn in 2006.

She hasn’t married since, and made headlines in 2019 when she was banned from dating site Bumble after creating what was considered a catfish profile.

When Stone pondered on love in the Saga interview, she said she felt she deserved a loving relationship and said, I have a better understanding of what it is than ever.

She added that she learned from her years of dating that the most successful men are often the “least available for a relationship”.

She spoke openly about her dating experience, saying she dated “liars and charlatans”.

“I’ve learned a lot about men and their behavior – that men who are most successful are often the least available for a relationship and the least thoughtful. Some were quirky and nice and interesting. Others were liars and charlatans. ‘

Her book The Beauty of Living Twice, published March 30, caused a sensation when it was released.

The actress left nothing unsaid in the work that included her career, personal life and family life.

The actress recounted her career on the Boo, revealing that she was misled into getting the infamous vagina recording of Basic Instinct (pictured with her son Roan in 2019).

She also revealed that she had had several negative experiences in Hollywood and that the infamous Basic Instinct scene was unplanned.

In the Stone and Michael Douglas thriller, the actress shocked the audience by crossing her legs during a police interview and revealing that she was not wearing any underwear.

In the book, Stone revealed that she was told to take off her underwear because it was reflecting the light, and she was reassured that her crotch would not be seen.

When Stone first saw the film and found she had been misled, she revealed that she had beaten director Paul Verhoeven before calling her lawyer.

She eventually allowed the film to be released, arguing that it was “right” for the character.

Dutchman Paul Verhoeven denied the fact Stone didn’t know about the 2017 vagina recording, saying she only had a problem with it after watching the preview film with fellow Americans.
