‘SoHo Karen’ Miya Ponsetto charged, launched from custody

Ponsetto is charged with attempted robbery, attempted assault, endangering a child’s well-being, and grand theft in the fourth degree

Miya Ponsetto, known as “Soho Karen,” appeared on Saturday for her first court hearing for her alleged assault on a teenager last month in a New York hotel.

According to the New York Post, she has been released from custody.

Ponsetto, 22, accused the 14-year-old Keyon Harrold Jr. Harrold’s father, Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Keyon Harrold Sr., videotaped the incident that became physical at the Arlo SoHo Hotel in Manhattan.

As previously reported by TheGrio, both Harrolds had stayed at the Arlo and were approached by Ponsetto in the lobby when they went to breakfast.

The story goes on

When asked about the incident, Ponsetto almost denies that she attacked the younger Harrold.

“I’m a 22 year old girl,” she said to King. “How does a girl accuse a man of being a crime over a phone?”

The 22-year-old woman, trapped on camera who allegedly physically assaulted a 14-year-old black teenager and falsely accused him of stealing her phone, was arrested in California.
