It reads: “I urge Congress to provide immediate assistance to families with a payment of $ 2,000 for adults and a payment of $ 1,000 for children, and to conduct regular checks throughout the crisis.

“Otherwise, laid-off workers, workers on leave, self-employed and workers on short-time work will have difficulty paying their rent or putting food on the table.”

She calls on lawmakers to put controls on Americans struggling to pay debts like rent and childcare.

Bonin wrote, “Congress must automatically perform periodic audits when certain triggers are met.

“No more waiting for our government to send the help we need.”

The petition received so much support that Change.org included it on its list of the Top 10 Petitions That Changed 2020.

More than 20 Democratic senators sent a letter in March asking Biden to waive recurring payments.

Lawmakers said, “Almost 6 in 10 people say the $ 1,400 payments to be included in the bailout will take less than three months.”

They also argued that additional payments could help move more than 18 million Americans above the poverty line.

However, American families with children under the age of six can receive up to $ 300 per month as part of the child tax break extension.

The first check on bank accounts by July 15th and subsequent payments will be made on the 15th of each month.

If the 15th falls on a weekend, payments are slightly delayed.

Americans will receive six checks this year and will have to use the other half of their balance on filing tax returns, reports The Times Weekly.
