Stimulus checks – Households in line for $2,000 month-to-month funds after 2.7million signal petition demanding further money

It reads: “I urge Congress to provide immediate assistance to families with a payment of $ 2,000 for adults and a payment of $ 1,000 for children, and to conduct regular checks throughout the crisis.
“Otherwise, laid-off workers, workers on leave, self-employed and workers on short-time work will have difficulty paying their rent or putting food on the table.”
She calls on lawmakers to put controls on Americans struggling to pay debts like rent and childcare.
Bonin wrote, “Congress must automatically perform periodic audits when certain triggers are met.
“No more waiting for our government to send the help we need.”
The petition received so much support that Change.org included it on its list of the Top 10 Petitions That Changed 2020.

When it reaches three million, the petition will become one of the most signed on the site.
President Biden is reluctant to introduce monthly checks up to $ 2,000.
Some legislators have called for fourth and fifth payments to be introduced.
In a letter to Biden last week, seven House Ways and Means Committee Democrats expressed their support for another round of stimulus checks.
The legislature wrote: “The pandemic has strongly reminded us that families and workers need certainty in a crisis.

“They deserve to know that they can put food on the table and have a roof over their heads. You shouldn’t be exposed to constantly changing legal deadlines and ad-hoc solutions. “
More than 20 Democratic senators sent a letter in March asking Biden to waive recurring payments.
Lawmakers said, “Almost 6 in 10 people say the $ 1,400 payments to be included in the bailout will take less than three months.”
They also argued that additional payments could help move more than 18 million Americans above the poverty line.
However, American families with children under the age of six can receive up to $ 300 per month as part of the child tax break extension.
The first check on bank accounts by July 15th and subsequent payments will be made on the 15th of each month.
If the 15th falls on a weekend, payments are slightly delayed.
Americans will receive six checks this year and will have to use the other half of their balance on filing tax returns, reports The Times Weekly.
