SANDUSKY, Ohio (WTVG) – One man is in police custody and another is in hospital after a shooting Saturday afternoon during a basketball tournament.
It happened at around 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the parking lot of Cedar Point Sports Center during a basketball tournament. Tournament witnesses report to 13abc that the father of a player who was upset about his child’s playing time shot a coach in a parking lot dispute.
The victim’s condition is unknown at the time, but officials from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office said he did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
According to FOX 8 in Cleveland, the male suspect ran away from the scene but was taken into police custody a short time later.
The suspect has been identified as Mario J. Lacy Sr. of Euclid, Ohio and is being held in the Erie County Jail. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
