ANDERSON, SC (WSPA) – A suspect accused of beating a child in a motel parking lot in Anderson on Sunday before leaving the scene of the accident has been taken into custody.
Anderson police said the accident occurred shortly after noon on August 22nd at the Red Roof Inn on North Main Street.
Investigators said an 11-year-old child was playing in the parking lot when it was hit by a Range Rover.

The victim sustained a broken hip, thigh and ankle and has since been discharged from the hospital.
45-year-old Marcus Wade Chandler was arrested and charged with hit and miss with serious assault, suspension driving and reckless driving.
Police said they had received numerous calls from Crime Stoppers leading to the arrest.
