Suspect needed in connection to a kidnapping, positioned and brought into custody in Alabama

PANAMA CITY, Florida (WJHG / WECP) – Panama City police say a suspect wanted in connection with a kidnapping has been located and taken into custody in Alabama.

According to the authorities, Terry Reese Jones was located by a citizen who spotted Jones driving his vehicle in Loxley, Alabama.

PCPD Police Chief Mark Smith said Jones was taken into custody by Alabama State Police on Saturday afternoon.

Chief Smith also said that the children he allegedly abducted have been recovered and are in custody at Children’s Services in Alabama.

According to the chief investigator, investigators are on their way to Alabama seeking help reuniting the children with their mother.

According to the authorities, around 10 different agencies helped with the search effort, including a National Amber Alert.

“Panama City Police would like to thank all law enforcement agencies, media citizens and the use of the Amber Alert for finding the suspect and children,” said Chief Mark Smith, chief of police for the PCPD.
