Three people, including a 15-year-old boy, were injured in a shooting Friday night when a man with a baby opened fire at a residence in north Houston, police said.

Witnesses told investigators that a man arrived at his ex-girlfriend’s apartment on the 4700 block of Siegel around 10 p.m. after fighting over custody, Lt. R. Willkens of the Houston Police Department.

The ex-boyfriend, who showed up with a baby in a red truck, pulled out a gun and shot the three people who, according to Willens, had appeared to protect the woman. Two men and a boy went to the hospital with gunshot wounds. All three are supposed to survive.

Police are working to track down the suspected shooter and believe they know his identity, Willkens said.
