The Baby Is Secure; The Suspect Is in Custody] Needed Man Probably Barricaded in King Salmon – Redheaded Blackbelt

There is a large law enforcement presence in the Buhne Drive area in King Salmon, according to the Humboldt County’s Sheriff’s Department Twitter feed.

A tweet posted at 4:18 pm said they were in the area “for a wanted man who may be barricaded in a residence”.

They ask, “Please avoid this area while law enforcement is working.”

UPDATE 4:57 p.m .: According to Samantha Karges, spokeswoman for the Humboldt County’s Sheriff’s Department,

The call came as a welfare service for a male youth believed to be in the care of his father. The father is wanted by the Eureka Police Department on multiple charges. Since the residence is the responsibility of the Sheriff’s Office, we are assisting EPD in pursuing this case and are trying to contact the man at his residence in Block 1800 of Buhne Drive.

We could not confirm whether the man is in the residence. However, we try to contact him and resolve this situation peacefully.

UPDATE 5:41 pm: According to our local reporter, Mark McKenna, the activity appears to be on Perch Street. Officers blocked the street on Crab Street.

UPDATE 5:48 p.m .: The sheriff’s armored vehicle, the Bearcat, is on site.

UPDATE 6:25 p.m .: According to the HCSO Twitter account, “The SWAT team and the CrIsis Negotiation Team are on site at King Salmon. The subject is believed to be inside the residence and not responding to vicarious commands. The residents are asked to stay inside. ”

UPDATE 7:16 p.m .: About half an hour ago, law enforcement officials announced they would send the robot in but would not enter in person.

UPDATE 7:23 pm: The teenager was inside and is safe. The suspect was detained at home. No officers, suspects, or young children were injured.
